Results of the Pre-Consultation Questionnaire

On April 23, 2016 the Minister of Canadian Heritage launched the first phase of consultations (pre-consultation) on Canadian Content in a Digital World.  Until May 27, an online survey questionnaire canvassed the opinions of stakeholders (creators or cultural organizations) and Canadian culture/media consumers (public) on issues pertaining to: Canadian and local content; industry challenges and barriers; the role of the CBC/Radio-Canada; as well as tools for the creation, discovery and export of content.  In answering the online questionnaire, Canadians provided a flavour of what they thought was important to them as well as what they see as the challenges ahead.

Below are the results of the responses to the closed-ended questions by the public and stakeholders organized around the key themes.  Please note that percentages may not add to 100 because of rounding and/or multiple responses.
